Grab your culinary passport on a private day-long excursion to treat your tastebuds and dazzle your senses!
First, you’ll travel to the gorgeous Emu Bay Lavender Farm and be delighted by the sight of waving fields of purple lavender. Take a moment to relax and sample Lavender scones and local apple cider as you breathe in the heavenly lavender scented air.
Next, you’ll stop off at Kingscote where you can indulge in some free time and take you pick of local cuisine for lunch (our guides can always provide some local knowledge on the best places to eat).
Continue to the Island Beehive, where you can observe a functioning beehive, and enjoy a tasting of some of the famous Ligurian Bee Honey that the island is known for. We highly recommend scooping up a tub of their honey ice-cream to enjoy on your trip!
We head on to American River, first visited by Europeans in 1802 when Matthew Flinders landed to survey the island. You may even spot the local fur seals that love to lounge around the wharf as we head to the iconic Oyster Farm Shop. Taste some of the local Kangaroo Island oysters harvested and shucked right there at the shop.
Lastly take a stop over and see some stunning views at the Penneshaw lookout along with Pelican lagoon for a few photo-ops and the chance to spot some lazy kangaroos in nearby paddocks. You will also pass by the historic ‘Reeves Point’ on your return, where South Australia’s first European settlement was created.
